HapKiDo

Hap Ki Do, which is translated as “The Art of coordinating your inner strength with your outer strength” or “The Art of coordinated powers”, is a Korean martial art which dates back to 372 AD.
Hap Ki Do is a complete self defense system which allows the trained user to defend themselves in any situation.  Hap Ki Do does this by seamlessly incorporating many different aspects of martial arts into what is respected worldwide as one of the most real world applicable martial arts.  Hap Ki Do uses the following types of techniques with devastating effectiveness to detain or disable a single opponent or a group of attackers:

As a traditional martial art, Hap Ki Do has been fine tuned over centuries to develop it’s practitioners with a greater set of tools than just fighting skill.  Through meditation, discipline and focus, Hap Ki Do students develop a far greater control over their physical and mental state.  These tools should be fostered to carry over into all areas of ones life.

Tae Kwon Do

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and the national sport of South Korea.

Taekwondo means “The Way of the Foot and Fist”. Taekwondo is a hard style martial art which emphasizes kicking and punching using linear force. The world’s most popular martial art, Taekwondo became an Olympic sport in 2000 and has used that platform to continue its growth.
Taekwondo has evolved over the past century from a traditional martial art to a modern day sport. As a traditional martial art, it teaches a pure self-defense taught through forms. These forms link kicks, punches, strikes and blocking techniques in a pattern which is filled with symbolism and elements of Korean culture. The sport of Taekwondo has developed a newer focus on healthy competition using speed, power, fitness and technique in sparring, or Gyeorugi.

The combination of the traditional and the modern emphasis has created a stronger martial art which is practiced by more people than any other martial art as well as helped to spread the poplularity of martial arts in general.
